Social Security Disability & SSI Disability
Claims: "Social Security Disability & SSI Disability Claims: Preparing to Win Adult Claims" is an audio presentation designed to provide basic information about what is necessary to prove and win a Social Security disability and an SSI disability claim for an adult. Some Claimants only have one claim, others have both. The medical proof requirements are the same for both types of Claims. The recording is about 28 minutes long and is available on audiocassette or CD.
Answers to the following questions are offered on the recording, either audiocassette or CD: (1) What is the Social Security Claims Process? (2) What is Required to Prove a Claim? (3) How is a Hearing Conducted? (4) Who is a Medical Expert? (5) Who is a Vocational Expert? (6) Does one need a representative? (7) How are representatives paid? (8) Which questions might a Claimant be asked at a Hearing? The author is an attorney licensed to practice law in Washington State. He has practiced Social Security disability and SSI law since 1986 and has represented Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income Claimants from Washington, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. This brief audio introduction to the Social Security claim and hearing process will help individuals who have filed an adult Social Security disability or an adult SSI claim. It should be especially helpful to those who have requested a hearing on that claim or claims before an Administrative Law Judge of the Social Security Administration. One of the advantages of the audio presentation is that it can be listened to more than once during a pending claim. It can be reviewed shortly before a hearing. Thus, in this efficient and low cost way, a person can learn about the Social Security disability and SSI claims process. The DISCLAIMER: This presentation is based upon the author’s experiences. It attempts to be accurate about Social Security law and regulations which are effective as of June 2003. However, parts of Social Security Regulations and policies are changed every year. The presentation is intended as a brief overview of the Claims and Hearing Process. It is not intended to replace competent legal advice. To ORDER or to REVIEW this audiocassette
